My donor truck paid out again last weekend by having a 8.8 3.73 limited slip in its rear end. When I pulled it apart 3 tabs fell out which look like they correspond to 3 of the clutch plates which appear to be missing them.
Is this a common problem? Is there a prevention? Better then the kit from the dealer?
This weekend I am hoping to replace the internals of my rear end with the limited slip.
Before I go to install the LS rear end I am buying new axle seals and bearings and a new pinion seal and a clutch kit from ford. The kit is supposed to come with a additive for the rear end fluid.
What exactly does the additive do? Make the clutches grab harder or less hard?
Any info would be help.
