Trac-Lok

yes , but that is $472 , i am a college student and i work at autozone , so i do not have alot of money , plus with that you still have to take the carrier out

well i also live in a state with the highest taxes on gas and the governor want to raise them , so i have to keep cost and fuel efficiency in mind

No, the lock-right isn't recommended for the street. It has a tendency to pop and bang during turns with throttle changes. Go to summitracing.com and look up part number PWT-92-0675-2805 The no slip can be installed without removing the carrier or gears.

im confused. they advertise it as a no-slip system with limited slip smoothness. if this is true, why would anyone consider anything else? is it a locker or l/s? will it wear out like a standard l/s?

Get a no-slip. You'll like it way better than a trash-lok. I've roasted a couple of them before. way easier install.

Only $6000.00 in Snap-On, amateur. At one time my Snap-On bill was about 8k plus. About 20k in all more or less.

well it is hard to estimate how much i have , i bought my toolbox with 80% of my required tools for my freshman year for $1400 and all the tools in it were snap-on , mac and craftsman , i have not had to buy much else from anywhere

...why would you have to take the carrier out?

how do you propose getting it in the diff , i do not see how that thing works , it just looks like a bunch of pieces of steel that do nothing , i'm sorry , but i get how the track lock works because it comes assembled , the powertrax makes no sense to me

see , now that i have seen it , it makes sense to me , i thought it was alot bighher tan that. so it just goes inside the carrier , i understand it now , but it is a heel of alot of money for that , money i do not have

You can get a lockright for about $250...how is that more than the trac lock?

Not to be an ass here....but if you don't understand how the lockright works, then i don't think you should be trying to swap a carrier and playing around with your mesh pattern and backlash............

no offense taken , but i am not a good judge of size , and the pictures on summit do not give an accurate represnetation , plus i have never worked with a lockright , they are something new to me , and the lockright for my truck is $472 , where as the Trac-Lok is $225 , where can you get a lockright for for $250

Not sure exactly where mine came from when I ordered it.....I got it through the parts department at the ford dealership I work at.

The 7.5 ones are spendy as shit, may consider a ranger 8.8 upgrade.

i was considering it , it happens that a guy my dad works with has a business called ford Rangers r us , right now he has about 18 to 20 rbvs at his house , all gen 3 and older , 2 are b2's , i have the chance to get a 92 ranger off hime for $500 , 4.0 auto 4x4 with 80k miles , has all documented paperwork since it was bought new , 1 owner truck , and it is from West Virginia = no rust , but he might have an 8.8 with 3.73 gears up there , i think he even has an stx highrider , i have to check it out when i go down , i will take pics so it can be determined by you guys , too bad it has been cannabilized
