For anyone who has done a SAS using radius arms I have a question about trac bar placement. I am in the process of mocking up my axle for my 90 B2. It looks to me like the trac bar would have to go below the engine cross member as opposed to in front of it. Any thoughts?
If your using the factory trac bar mounting location on the axle, it will go in front of the crossmember. However, depending on the angle of the track bar, you can make a bracket and mount it on top of the axle and route it under the crossmember. Unfortunately, my truck is on the tranny shop now, or I could snap a pic of the track bar. My track bar and steering is at 10 degrees.
However, I did grab a pic from another post on TRS. This is a nice clean SAS with the track bar mounted on the axle in the stock location and going in what looks like the front of the crossmember. Mine is similar except I run all of my steering on top of the knuckle instead of one on top and one on the bottom.
Sorry, the only photo I have of my front suspension.
Thats awesome thanks! I know I have seen that bronco before. Did you go on last years ultimate adventure? What size tires are you running and what size lift springs?
I am running Goodyear MTR 35's. Wild Horses 5.5 EB lift springs, Duff buckets, 79 F150 full width D44, Ballistic fab 1 1/2" steering with 7/8" hiems , Fox reservoir shocks and home made radius arms.
