ok so i'm almost done with my sas on my 03. i have a toyota steering box (which is about all i could find that would fit). those of you guys that have done it, the pitman arm has the tie rod end on it.. how do i go about punching a hole in it for my 1 ton chevy tre? i have a reamer for it i just wondered if there was another pitman arm i could use or if i drill??

i ream the pit i want :icon_thumby:

Far as I have seen guys buy an aftermarket pitman to replace the factory one on the ifs box's when they do solid axle swaps in the ifs trucks. Never heard of anyone reaming out the TRE on it tho.

theres many products to work with it to save the trouble of reaming iirc. i tend to use the gm or ford boxes myself. scout box is better then the ford though imo, just hard as hell to find.

i have had a stock ranger box in oem position with various pitman arms, outside the rail dodge, two types of gm and the big ford box on my personal truck with a dana 60 and hi steer arm..

currently running the ford box with a straight arm and all were custom reamed by me to work with what i was using for linkage at whatever time i was doing whatever.

only thing i can say for sure, when running larger then 35 in tires on the road and using 40 inch or bigger tires off road, a properly setup full hydro is probably the best way to go.

good radial 37's should work fine with just the yoter box. if running assist its probably a non issue with tires up to 40's.

i have installed the yota box on other trucks but have yet to use it on my truck. but, that dont mean i wont try one this summer.

i tried the ford box. it was way to big. the toyota box is cramped in there.

way too big?

too big of a pain in the ass?

too big looking?

i know it will work, especially with a lil v6 so i am not sure what you mean by, too big.:icon_confused:

with the yota box, rockstomper or front range offroad fab should be able to get ya where ya want to be quite cost effectively with a pitman arm with the taper you desire..

the ford box was about twice as big. this is the yota box. it just fits under the inner fender. i would have had to cut about 3" off the inner fender to get ford box in.

im running an f150 box just fine
