hey my buddy got a 85 4 runner and was wondering what guys are running for setups maybe some people round here got buddies with built 4 runners and could give me some insight

This is my buddies 85' he's had it for as long as I've known him. He and his dad built it in high school and it was running 14" of lift or so and 44's and they took it to alot of shows. They did something or another to the door and dented it and he let it sit for 3 or 4yrs. His old lady and a few others finally talked him into getting it back on the road so he took off all but 6" of lift, tossed on some 35" BFG MT's, a highsteer kit (the brake steer was gnarly) and plays with it all the time. It's stock axled (maybe new birfields but idk) with 4.88's and I think a detroit trutrac in the front and a lockright in the rear. Oh and the 22r(e?) has most of the lc engineering catalog in it from its show days. So lets just say that his runner is ALOT of fun! Oh and in case you were wondering he told me the 44's were fun to have but unless you get big axles and big power and/or a doubler they are really more of a hassle for a woods machine.
