Looking for mileage testimonials. Have had plenty of friends run toyo open country m/ts and get around 40k out of them. But they're pricey.

I see a lot of guys on here with the Goodyear wrangler mts and I think I've seen similar mileage reports.

What about the mikey Thompson Baja mtr? Anyone have luck with those?

I had a set of Goodyear MT/Rs in the 35" flavor on mine for about 12K miles. They were about 30% worn at that point... I can't imagine them ever making it to 40K had I kept them.

I have heard many good reports about Toyo MTs though, but no personal experience with them yet (these may be the next set of tires for my Ranger).

Don't know much about the Baja MT other than I've heard they run small like a lot of other MTs.

So far the longest treadwear on a set of mud-terrain tires I've experienced is with the BFG MT KM(1). My last set had ~33K miles and 50% tread left, those tires probably could've made it to 50K & beyond if rocks hadn't chewed the tread all up on them... My current set of BFG KM2s seem to be wearing similarly (minus the tread chunking).

Good Year's quality is in the can right now. When we do an estimate for tires we won't even list them unless the customer has specifically requested a price on that brand.

I think I'm zeroing in on the Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs and potentially considering the Pro-Comp M/T because of their $70 rebate makes them a decent price in addition to they actually give a 40k wear warranty.

Guess that would explain why mine went seriously out of round at 12K. :annoyed:

My Rubicon BFG MT's had 40k on them when I replaced them, a wheel bearing went out and wore one funny so it was loud and vibrated. The others still have quite a bit of tread, 50k would have been easy.

I have heard several good reviews about the tread wear of Toyo MT's.

Ive got the Pro-Comp MTs on my Samurai (in a 32). I have been pleased with them. They wear decent and not a lot of highway/road noise. They seem to hook up decent and clean well enough in mud. Of course my Samurai doesnt weigh what a ranger will, but I have been pleased with mine.

A buddy of mine worn a set of MTZs out in a little over a year on a samurai with less than 30,000 on them.
