2 black tow hooks rated at 10,000lbs from Summit: $10
6 grade 8 bolts with washers, lock washers, and nuts: $20
New 1/2" cobalt drill bit: $20
Result: bad ass tow hooks
Just a tip for everyone else: USE THE RIGHT PROCEDURE FOR DRILLING STEEL. That means low speed, cutting oil, and a sharp cobalt drill bit. If you start out like I did on high speed without any oil or lube you'll just burn up your expensive cobalt bits and get nowhere except $20 poorer and arms that feel like jello.
Yes, the bolts cost more than the tow hooks themselves.
Rated at 10,000lbs and bolted to the frame with grade 8 hardware, these suckers are tough. Now I'm ready to help pull someone out of a mudhole
Or someone can pull ME out of a mudhole.....
