ok i was searching around on autotrader.com today and i found a 1990 BII 4x4, with less miles than my truck and a pretty much clean body, now i have always wanted a BII and i've always wanted a 4x4, my delema is whether or not to sell my truck and get the BII or keep it until the wheels fall off and get a newish truck gahh idk, take a look at it

B2's are sick, and 4x4 is worth the investment. I guess what it comes down to is how sound the B2 is mechanicly. Ultimitly you will wind up with what you want, just look at every negitve aspect of both vehicles and stick with the one with the least. Just be sure to test that four wheel drive before you hand over cash.

What was wrong with the 87 in your sig again?

That BII is not worth what they are asking for it. It's got mismatched wheels, the shitty A4LD, and it really looks like it has been wrecked. The doors and front clip are different colors so it has been repainted for some reason.

Agreed on the price thing. If you can get it for under 1k then maybe, but I think I seen that it was at a dealership, so good luck.......

sold the 87, i guess i should take it off eh?

I wouldn't pay that much for that BII, again, it looks like it's been wrecked, has the A4LD, mismatched 60/40 bench, mismatched wheels etc.

I don't think it's worth it.

well i know its not worth it im hopin if i go look at it and like it enough, i could jew the out of like 800

I'm not sure what they go for in your area, but that seems a bit high to me. I'd also try to get one with a 2.9, but that's just me.

yeah that ones a lil high but ive always wanted a carb vehicle

You're thinking of trading a 2.3 5-speed for a 2.9 A4LD? :shok: That's fine I guess if you like going from an extremely reliable engine/tranny combo to a worthless POS engine that's going to tick like a watch, lose it's oil pressure, crack the heads, and quit running leaving you with a yard ornament. And if you don't get burned by the 2.9, it's always got the nice POS A4LD transmission to take a crap all over you. Not to mention that it won't do 0-60 any faster than the ranger.

On top of all that, they've got that thing priced at least 3x what's it worth.

*Anyways, just my opinion.
**Sorry 2.9 cheer leaders if I've offended you. That's just been my experience.

That one looks like it's in better shape, still not worth $1700 IMO. Especially since it looks like they didn't even bother cleaning it out. Old cars just aren't worth much, when you can get a nice 5-6 year old car for $4-5k.

That said, anything with a 2.8 is a good candidate for a carbed V8 swap just because you don't have to go redoing fuel pumps, tons of wiring, etc. I think I am just getting burnt out on V6's though. I miss the feel of a V8 under the hood real bad.
