Transmission
Automatic
'85 2.3 with 5spd. Pulled trans, replaced pressure plate, clutch disc, throw out...put it all back together and now nothing from the output shaft??? Thought maybe clutch plate issue<?> but pulled it apart second time, verified everything correct, put it back together and same issue, no output. Loosing my mine and ready to take shotgun to the truck at this point. Can only think something in trans - but what????Other than changing throw out bearing, didn't do anything else to the trans.:dunno::dunno::dunno:

Does the slave cylinder work correctly?

When you let out the clutch, does it engage the trans input shaft? Even in neutral you should feel that its turning, even trying to shift into a gear it should grind just a tad. That will tell you at least you're getting power into the transmission.

What transmission do you have and why did you replace your clutch assembly ?

It's a 5 speed, I have no idea of the actual make - appears to be German. The bottom has a multi-bolt access cover and it is on a slight angle to horizontal if those are any clues.

Obviously the input shaft is seated in the clutch disc, the disc is held tight by the pressure plate, so whatever is suddenly happening is inside the transmission. My thinking is that the internal gear selection arm is hosed up in some manner and not selecting a gear. I have zip in any forward or reverse gear at this point.

Why did I replace the clutch? Truck has 120k and the old one was shot.

The reason I asked about your clutch is that if your transmission quit pulling, it may have been something other than that. Even though you replaced the clutch, that may have not been the problem.

At 120,000 it was a good idea to replace it. I just did mine after I pulled my M5R1 out to rebuild it. ( I get to do it again because I put fifth gear in backwards.)

There is transmission ID info in the tech library. If you do that, maybe we can find out what may be the trouble. As you know, there is always some specific problem with each type of transmission design.

From your discription, looks like you have a Toyo Koygo.

I will check it tonight but the transmission page says to click on the trans and get an exploded view - doesn't seem to be there and that would be real helpful.

Nope, I drove this damn thing into the garage. No issues with the trans other than almost no pedal left which when I pulled the old clutch out, the clutch disc was just short of being metal to metal. And if anyone is curious, I also put in a new flywheel. For the life of me I can not figure out how pulling a transmission out, then putting it back in place screwed it up!
