torsion crank

it is recommended unless you want to burn up a good set of tires i would get the alignment

I raised my front about an inch or so. In the two weeks before I got it aligned, it had already started to noticebly feather the front tires. I would recommend an alignment.

Well, you'll be able to tell if the tires are wearing funny, but as for the actual alignment, no, you'll have to take it in. The only thing that was out of spec on mine was toe.

You can set toe with a tape measure... Me and my dad set my rig's toe by tape measure after the fron axle swap and it drives PERFECTLY straight down the road and tires are not wearing unevenly.. You will be able to see if the camber is off by eyeballing it, compare the verticle line of the front tires with the rear tires on a level surface to see if it needs to be corrected.

I cranked my brother in laws 98 1.5 inches last year. The inside of his tires wore really bad. and his headlights pointed way high

I had my bars cranked and it would never hold the alignment. Of course I have a 4" suspension lift too, which probably didn't help. It did look cool though. Anyways, I would get an alignment.
