I recently figured out how to crank my torsion bars. I just did it tonight and I noticed a big difference in clearance. The only thing i am concerned about is how they are cranked. I cranked them both the exact same number of turns but one side still looks like it has at least 4 full turns left in it before it is the same length as the other side. Will this mess up my alignment?

Did you measure the tire to wheel well space before and after? Did it increase evenly? I wouldn't worry about the length of the bolts, i would just worry about how the truck is sitting. Is it sitting even? And if you didnt raise it more than 2 inches then you should be fine. Make sure you get an alignment quickly because cranking the t-bars screws the camber up.

+1 on checking clearence before and after, but its no biggie if you didn't, just measure now and make sure both wheel wells have even spacing. While the length of the bolts do not really matter, you should always leave at least a 1/4 inch of thread exposed on the torsion bar adjuster. Also, anytime you mess with your bars or anything suspension related, you will almost always neeed an alignment.:icon_thumby:

Thank guys. When i measured the fender well they were both even so i should be good. Ill take it in to get realigned soon. I am going to put a 3 inch body lift on and throw some 35s under her this winter too.

nice, what gearing do you have?

The bolts being different is normal. As long as the truck is the same side to side, that's all you have to worry about.

Here is a link to the most recent work i did. the picture titled "lifted" is my tires i have now (265/75r15) which are the same as 30.5. I dont think i should have any problem fitting 35s after i do the 3 inch body lift. i am gettin a set of cragar soft 8s with 4 inch back spacing to eliminate rubbing.

I just checked my gearing today and i have an 8.8 inch rear wth 3L73 gears. I was told that should be ok for 35s but im not sure. Any information would be helpful.

Its definately going to be a dog! My 4.0 with 33s on 4.10s wasn't very peppy, let alone 35s and 3.73s

I ended up gettin a set of LTB super swampers from jc whitney. I got 34x10.5x15. I paid 928 for the package with shipping and the came with 15x8 cragar black widow wheels. I figure the 34s would be easier to clear and a little lighter.

good price. you still going to need better gearing....... atleast 4.10 and 4.30 ish would be better...... 4.56 would be the best with that tire size.

Shoot, maybe even 4.88s

So what is the biggest tire that will fit w the torsion bars cranked up to the max , safe amount? Will 265/75/16s?

I have 265/75r15s on my truck stock. For my truck I could fit 33s on right now without the body lift.... but i think i remember someone telling me that the B4000 model I have comes with a factory 3 inch suspension lift. I changed my tire order as well im goin with the 35x12.5x15 baja radial claws on 15x8 soft 8 rims.
