Hey Guys, i have a 2008 Ranger Sport 4x4, i cranked up my torsion Bars and i read that u can get a 2 inch lift safely without hurting anything, my problem is i was only able to get an 1 1/4 inch because, i ran out of bolt on one side but the other side has lots to go??? Somebody please help!:icon_bounceblue:

you need the older style torsion keys the 08 and new keys are different and the rear blocks are smaller

Since the '08's are lower to begin with you can't go up as high. As mentioned, you'd need the torsion keys off an older truck. Not sure what years, anything up until '05 maybe?

Maybe should i just get aftermarket Torsion Keys then? I was worried about getting new shocks but i just want a 2 inch lift in the front, can my shocks handle that?

Torsion Keys

Hey Guys, i was thinking of getting torsion Keys, they say 2-2 1/2 inch lift, would i have to get new shocks? i just want 2 inches higher than stock, and how do i go about installing them?

yeah your front shocks will be fine. when you crank your tbars you loss drop. so you dont need shocks that have a longer travel. but i wouldnt get aftermarket keys just find stock ones for a 07 and older truck. im pretty sure its 07 and older and get the blocks out of a 4x4 truck thats 07 or older

Torsion Bar Bolts

Hey has anyone put longer bolts to crank the torsion bars because i could only get 1 1/4 out of my stock bolts, i was thinking longer ones?? Can anyone help me find where to get them or if u can even do it?

its not the bolts that are the problem on your truck its the keys them self.

You can get longer bolts. Believe they are M12-1.75 and you'll want a fully threaded one that's approx 110mm long I think.

Getting 07 and older keys will also help you out....in 08 ford lowered the torsion bar trucks approx 1.5" and they did this by clocking where the torsion bar slides into the key. putting in 98-07 keys will gain you that lost height, plus get you approx 1.5-2" of additional crankability.

Here's a link to the bolt if you wanna go that route...

don't get aftermarket lift keys.....just causes more harm and more money out of your pocket and a crappy ass ride.

throw in STOCK 98-07 ranger torsion keys....it'll get you approx 1.5" of lift over stock, plus you'll have more adjustment of the bolt to be higher if you wish.

Search "PreKey mod".

I merged these 3 threads, please don't start multiple threads for posts that could all go in one topic.

Thanks.

It looks like with lower blocks in the rear on 08 models, you'd need rear blocks too, or if you get too crazy with a t-bar torque then you'd actually have the front higher than the rear.

How high are you wanting to go? or are you just looking for level?
