what would your top five performance mods to your daily driver 3.0L or any ranger motor if you want to add into it

Here's my list for my 1990 2.3:

3. Installed full set of gauges (oil pres, oil temp, voltage, manifold vacuum/boost, water temp)
4. Installed manual boost controller to turn it up to 16 PSI from the stock 9 PSI (limited by the auto tranny computer I'm using)
5. Leather bucket seats from an explorer

lol, I started reading this and I was like WTF is wrong with Shran? lol

The best upgrade to do, if your looking for performance(hence 'more power') is to put in some lower gears...

hey thanks for quoteing me!!!

if you paint chuck norris on the hood it will easily give you an additional 200hp and 378 lb/# of torque!

Crap I forgot that one!!

I had him sign my intake. Beat that :D

Haha thats a good one.

I agree with SevenSecondSUV. I have done the first two to my ranger too!!! That f*cker shits and gets!

I'll be getting a set of guages and manual boost controller here sometime soon.

I haven't done 5 things to my truck yet for performance. I'll try to remember to update this when I do.

1.) put in a clean air filter and fuel filter.
2.) make sure your duct work leading up to your air box is connected and unrestricted so you can get fresh air from your grille, unless youre running cold air intake. in this case forget no. 2.
3.) clean your upper intake manifold with throttle body cleaner and get the hole in the butterfly clean as well as the butterfly and linkage.
4.) clean your mass air flow sensor using mass air flow sensor cleaner.
5.) if you have quite a few miles on your truck, do the zip tie trick to your throttle cable to improve throttle response and feel.
these arent crazy performance mods but they will make your truck run like a smoother machine and also improve its efficiency which is a must in this economy if you dd it.

I knew I saw it somewhere but I didnt know who to give credit to. I am glad you came forward to claim it.

Proper gearing and a manual transmission, the end.

Unless you want to spend a couple Gs on a supercharger, you're wasting your time, even if you do supercahrge it, you're still probably wasting your time.

Zip tie fix is the best of the bunch.
Add a Tornado (tm)
Get some stickers (All one colour) and place them in a vertical stripe on each fender right behind the wheel <I am told that this adds 'street cred'
Add a giant stereo that rattles everything for a 4 block radius (don't forget to add the stereo stickers all over your rear window)
Definitely add a giant muffler. Just steal a metal garbage can and punch a hole in it.
For the finale - a giant wing made out wood and scraps of aluminum!

LOL
