I was looking into getting a tool box that fits beween the fenderwell and tailgate, but all of the ones I could find where made for fullsize trucks and cost over 200 bucks.
So i decided to go a different route...

I bought a 20 mm ammo box for 30 bucks. It is water tight, cheap, rugged, and the perfect size. I sanded it down and primed it, then painted it with black wrinkle finish paint to match the texture of the rhino liner. I mounted it to the bed with a couple brackets made from 1x1 box tubing and 1x1 angle. I put an eyebolt through the slot in the latch so I could lock the lid on. To finish it off I put a peice of reflective tape on the back.

That's a good idea, and you did a great job on the installation.

Thanks RobbieD

LIKE it! All-bases-covered job! (Plus it counters the Ranger "left-lean", lol.)

my father in law has the exact same setup in his truck, ammo crate right?

What is this "left-lean"

My lifted 99' suffers from this. Never heard of that before

You've never heard of the Ranger Lean...?

All 5 of mine have it, even the one with 4" drop leaves, and the one with 64" GM leaves.

It comes from the driver and fuel tank both being on the left side. The left spring will settle more than the right.

Any redneck fixes? I bought it looking like that and I figured something was messed up.

An old buddy of mine would hit springs with the torch to stiffen them up. Get the weight off and hit the springs a little?

There aren't even any good fixes, let alone redneck ones.

As for your buddy who torches springs, you know that kinda makes them not-springs anymore.

I think that is for another thread.

Good idea with the box. Let us know how it holds up.

I know...but, hitting just a small part of the spring wouldn't ruin it. Just throwing ideas out

American Pride, it's not a great idea to be using a torch so close to your gas tank. Think about it that way also

Really? I thought it would warm my gas and I'd get increased HP and MPG...man was I wrong. Lol

Thanks for the heads up, but I'm more than aware or the danger of "gas+flame"
That equals Boom right? Lol

Holy reviving dead thread batman.lol

I sold that truck 3 years ago.lol. The box lives on in my current truck though. It is now home to my on board air.lol

Still have those tail lights in my current truck as well, but the passenger is all broke to hell.
