Been looking for a good toolbox for the little ranger's bed. I've had one called "Best Built" and didn't care for it too much. The latches didn't work after a few months and when the truck was slightly twisted off roading the box would not open. Which really sucked because I've been stuck before and my tow straps were inside the box. Anyone have pics of theirs and any info on a good, durable one? Here is a pic of the old box on my 1990 F150 when I found my nieghbor's sleice pipe when plowing out the driveway. Couldn't open the box then either.

Howany bolts did you use to tie it down? My BIL works in the woods and says the beds are always flexing and if tied down with 4 they tear the bed or box. I just put mine back in, use a 5/16 toggle in stake pocket and then 4 tee nuts and bolts in a 3/4-1 inch piece of wood. I dont off road but seems to work ok like that. Dont think any box will hold up unless dramatically reinforced (= heavy) or will tear up the bed itself. I have a contico on my ranger and a delta (both steel) on my f350.

Use the search function. Lot of info there as well as the Fabrication area.

I used the 4 clamps that come with it to tie it to the bed.

try to get a steel box and only hold down with 1 as I said. That way the box can work and not be too stiff. The boxes I have are many years old. Bought the rangewr box at a salvage yard, had been on a TV cable repair truck. The delta on my f350 I bought new for my f250 in 1989! has a few dings but has held up well again I only use 1 bolt to hold the rig to the beds, but like I said I dont off road, just some dirt roads lousey city streets which are worse than the roads I hunted on!

What I have done is find some rubber material, like a thick mud flap or or conveyor belt material works well if you can find it, to put between the box and bedrails if it mounts that way. I suppose if you just bolted it to the bed floor it would work also. I just used it to kinda protect the bed from being scratched too terrible by the box, but i suppose it might help it flex a little also.
