Looks like it came from hitting muddy water pretty fast head on and throwing it up on the hood. I did that when my road was under construction and it had been raining pretty hard. Front end looked exactly like what yours does. As for the sides some of it looks genuine but some of it looks like mud balls being stuck on there, and the smear marks are obvious. Next time get more serious. Get a friend with a bigger truck and hit some of the deeper stuff. Just don't hydrolock the motor.

i got the 8.8 4.10 LSD in mine it actually does decent, i am thinking about locking it after the warranty runs out cause the 4.10s are actually decent. tires are actually going to be very soon cause these goodyear wrangler tires suck to high hell.

4.56s with a welded diff. used to be l/s but i wore it out. (modded clutch pak, not enough friction modifier etc) it was very agressive before, now much better.

no substitute for the original...........

Yea what he said.Looks like a fun day for all.
Just because you got a Ranger doesn't mean you got get it dirty.

Its not what "he" said just to let you know.

It doesn't looke like you did any mudding but I believe that you did, cause you obviously had to be near a mud pit to get mud on your truck and near enough to get others roosters, and My friend always tries mudding with street tires and it never works, (get some A/T's seeing as it will only be seeing mud every once in awhile... I think:stirthepot:). But I swear do not let anyone smear the mud, it will scratch like hell.

Heres mine when I went with some friends last year (they had ATV's with like 2" treads, and another jeep, he let me try his mud tires and they were awsome but like super wide.)
