A buddy and I went down to the Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan this past friday.... $5 to watch, $10 to test and tune, $30 to bracket race for $250 and $100 prises. I though $10 test and tune... run what'cha brung.... what the heck, who wouldn't? Only took 1 pass on the quarter mile at 18.19 at 74.23 mph. I though I'd take her down the track for a little fun. I just had the engine rebuilt so I took it at 3/4 throttle. Too much fun! The mustang next to me did a 15.5 all out. That 18.1 was with all my tools, chains, jack, spare tire, BFG AT's, and overdrive on to top it off haha. Maybe 17 next summer with some light junk steel wheels and tires?

nice, ive always wanted to try it but i need to replace my clutch first

thats a really cheap drag strip the dragstirp here in kc is 15 to just go watch i'm not sure wat it is to actually test and tune

Nice.

I've been thinking of running my truck just to see what it'll do. Let me know next time your down there.

Will do. It's a good time. Every Wednesday and Friday they run a test and tune and then they do the King of Street bracket races after, thats as long as there is no special events going on. Hope to run at least a 17 next time.

Pretty good track to be at... good people, staff, grounds, and atmosphere. Everytime I drive down there though I get the idiot that thinks if he tailgates me I'll go faster.... I was already going a 55 in a 45. :nono: Some hillbilly in a corvette.

Thats still better then my uncles '99 chevy 4.8 single cab flairside 2wd auto. He ran Moble 1 and had a crappy cat back exhaust, swore up and down it would run in the 14's

Yea 18.3x and I forgot what MPH, still funny tho and he was to embaresed to run it again lol.

Been awhile since I posted this, but it uses factory net horsepower and curb weight to make a durn accurate estimate of your 1/4-mile speed. The 1/4-mile time is pretty accurate and the 0-60 decent as well.

I think your truck is about 3,500# curb. With 160hp it should run 17.3 @ 80mph if you take all the non-Ford stuff out of it and drive it like you hate it.

At mid-michigan (Stanton) it is $15 for test and tune, You can run as many times as you can get to the line. Probably the most fun you'll ever have for $15. Of course you have to figure in fuel, parts and attrition.
You're Ranger is capable of 17s. You could probably get into the 16s with a bit of work.
You are not going to hurt your truck by running down the track at w.o.t. It is the burnout box that is hard on it.
With street tires I just go around the burn out box, spectators raz you but, you don't beat up your vehicle as bad and go just as fast.

You're in KC? You should come with some of us down to Springfield, MO to a ranger meet in September.

I'd like to come up to that dragstrip sometime in the future... it would be a kickass place to test out my future turbo setup!

Right now, I'm sure my truck would do a 25 second 1/4.

Yeah, I figured next time I go down I'll get a good couple of easy runs to get the engine warmed up and then I take one run and blast down the track. I wanna take it to the dyno at my college and see what I pushing. I'm just running a cat-back and an intake but it would be fun to jump on the dyno for the hell of it. I think at the most I'm pushing 170hp and 230 ft/lbs. I'll have to almost run the tank dry and fill it up with 94.

I did that once with my truck for the heck of it. 13.3 @ 108 with a easy launch. My BII would be an embarassment if it even passed tech...I would guess that poor pile would be somewhere in the 20s....

i have run milan alot in the past. usually 15's driving my 4x4 in ready to race form...of course that is reletive....its no racecar:icon_twisted:
one of the electrical contractors i was working with had a psd van that run high 13's when it was empty, that was always a load of laughs at all of the shocked looks...it did that with only propane and a tuner.

4x4 ranger 4 leeeekers can squeeze low 16 quite often when its cool out.

i been kicked out of line alot too cause of tools and shit and i always am missing lugs. depending on who is doing what with tech often i
get let by anyway. if it was burnin 13's blowing 95+ traps,it would be different. the last three years things been different everytime i went. different people ect. but i wasnt there to run, just work on others rides, i was doing alot of work in dexter too from 03-07, you have possibly seen my junk running rampant with ladders all over it a time or two;missingteeth;

i used to run at clarksville speed way in tennesee its only 1\8th mile but running 10.25 at 79mph is not to bad when its all stock
