Too Much Heat

I am having a heater problem on my 1997 Ford Ranger. I am having too much heat. The blend door controls are working and so is the blower. When using any selection of vents, a full force of hot air comes out and it cannot be adjusted. The only adjustment is to turn the heater completely off and back on when heat is required. This truck has A/C installed which does not work.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Sounds like the blend door is not working to me... otherwise you would be able to change the heat to cold where it would draw cool air or cold air from outside.

Your door that controls where the heat/cold goes works you mean?

If you remove the blend motor assembly You're probably gonna find that the shaft at the top of the blend door is busted. Pretty common problem. Already had to do it on my 97.

I agree, I had to do it on my '98 because of the same problem. Seems like a unanimous vote. Speaking of too much heat, one day back in '09 here in Tucson, it was 112*F with 2% humidity. >:C

My 2.3 i had the same problem it would blow hot air even when it was off or on outside air. while replacing the heater box i found a small vacuum hose disconnected I reconnected it and bam it worked!
