Ok Im new on this forum and I have been slowly fixing my ranger and i have about a thousand questions but ill start with just one maybe two ok as far as i know there have been no mods made to my truck but for some reason my rear is higher than it should be manual said it should be about 8" and for some reason im a bit over 9.5" why would it be like that? and would this be causing any issues?? i have been replacing suspension componets because she has been riding like shit

maybe the prev owner added a leaf to the leaf packs to stiffen it up for cargo. my brothers Ranger was that way and it had a harsh ride. we took em out and it lowered to stock and actually absorbed the bumps

yes i do have larger tires but i am measuring from the axle to the frame so tire size is ruled out for being an issue as for the springs im not to sure what an add a leaf would look like

an add a leaf just looks like another leaf spring. it gets added to the pack to make it taller and stiffer for more cargo

theres should only be 3 or 4 leafs in the rear suspension pack. it may also have whooped out front springs that are causing the large difference, a picture would be worth a thousand words

thanks for all the help/ideas so far guys heres some pictures to help [/ATTACH]

nope. no add a leaf. as for the rake. it looks normal to me. maybe just a bit low in the front

would this mysterious raise in my rear affect handling or maybe my shocks i just put new shocks in about two weeks ago and the ones i removed were fine except that they had a 2" dead area at the top of the susension where you could freely push the rear down about 2 inches before the shocks kicked in. problem is gone with new the new shocks

I was going to ask the story on the shocks. What shocks are they? When you say the problem is gone, do you mean it rides better now? Or it's measuring how you'd like now? Or both?

no the ride is still at the same height with the new shocks i put on gabriel max controls all the way around with the new shocks i no longer have that unresisted 2" of freeplay hard to explain if you pushed down the the bed of the truck it would easily go down about 2" before the shocks would kick in

I understand shocks dont raise you truck, what im asking is why the truck is sitting too high

Why worry about it?? I bought my 99 Ranger brand new and when I went over to a show it to a buddy who had a new yellow Splash and he asked..'Did you already lift it that fast? It sits so much higher then mine'. I put 31's on my Ranger the next summer with no lift at all. I had plenty of clearance for them.....so go figure. Don't worry about it since mine sat so much higher then any stock Ranger I saw in parking lots or next to me at a traffic light.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!!!!!

the only reason i am concerned is because my truck has been driving like such garbage and i dont want to rule any possiblities to the problem out
