My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
Picked up my new tonneau cover today, which I had for a short while. Trail FX tonneau, DO NOT BUY. Piece of f'n garbage, instructions, fit, and mounting are all horrible. Took it back for a refund in a matter of hours. Also will not fit with the factory bedliner but I didn't even get that far. Felt bad because I got it from a local mom & pop shop where I get my truck stuff and it was all they could find for me but I said hey, the fit and mounting is horrible. Side rails fit flush with the inside of the bedrails, which where I live is going to leak but that's if the shitty clamps even hold it. I asked in a Gen 5 FB group, the Truxedo unit looks nice and is similar to the Extang I had on my Sport Trac.

I recently installed a Truxcedo (sp) Truxport on my 04' Silverado 2500HD. Well made product and super easy to install. It's a roll-up with support bars and fits specific vehicles. Just a tad over $300.

The one I got from the factory when I ordered the truck is pretty decent for a vinyl, tri-fold toneau. I still have it if I need it.

I bought the rough country hard folding cover. Looks nice and has keep everything dry. Comes with drains for the rails I just routed through some existing holes in bed. The only thing I don't like is first section by bed is stationary. Whole thing is super light.

I have yet to find a cover that I don't hate installing on a T6.

Even the Ford one requires what I consider "major" modification to a Ford drop-in bed liner, to the point that I do not consider them to be compatible.

You have to chop large chunks out of the corner to make space for the front clamps.

On the YouTube video it doesn't look like you have to cut the bedliner, but we'll see. I could see you would have to do that on the Trail FX cover and the side rail fit and clamps were total shit.

I went with the spray on bed liner, so didn't have that issue to worry about.

Spray in bed liner is what my Silverado has also. It would depend on what type drop in bed liner you have whether or not you would have to cut any holes. The clamps use the top of the bed to hold on the tonneau rails.

I am very pleased with the quality of my Undercover Flex.

My Son did exhaustive research on a cover for his Super Duty used daily for work and settled on RetraxPRO MX. Costly in comparison to others but now in service for multiple years and nary an issue. So I'm inclined to consider the same, and at the same time wonder if the Ford "Embark" offering is the same thing made by Retrax.

Anybody here with specific experience toward either of these?

not i.

i have only had those roll up covers on two trucks.

I have one on mine, been there like 15 years. Starting to get a little ragged around the edges. Afraid if I take it off one more time, I won't be able to put it back on. It has plastic edges that slip into grooves in the side rails. When it goes, I am replacing it with some form of hard cover.

I think that is what Ford uses if you buy it through them when you order the truck.

Not a slick and slippery as a plastic bed liner but not as grippy as some of the more rubbery applications. Tough stuff too. Way better than the roll on Herculiner I used in the 1998.

The spray on rattle can stuff from Duplicolor is somewhere in between Herculiner and LineX. I used that on my utility trailer. It takes wear and tear ok but is no where as tough as LineX or whatever Ford put in the bed of the 2019.
