Todays weather

Wing plow
We don't have those here but I lived briefly in the northern tier of NY and they use them there.
The near-record snow we have here is a normal day for them.
The roads here are pretty good now but parking is a hassle. People have a spot where their car is or was but there's piles of snow everywhere.
And a ton more coming for the east coast this weekend.

it was 46 this morning, supposedly. felt warm to me. this afternoon is supposed to be 71 so i am glad winter is over. a few more days of those temps and i would be ready to move to move to mexico

When I lived in Ohio, cities plowed their streets and businesses had their parking lots plowed.

Here in Texas, many cities don't plow their streets, and businesses don't clear their lots. Where I live, the road going through town in a state highway, so Texas DOT plows it, but they down plow the turning lane. So, making any left turns is an adventure. I went to the grocery store and Dollar General and I'm trudging through 4-6-inches of slush to get to the door.

I don't like cold, but I used to love plowing snow, and I like the challenges of snow. But I still like it when people take care of their street and parking lots.

When I grew up in the city, the city city, where there were a couple of single-family houses in between the apartment buildings and such, there wasn’t much of a sidewalk, and the driveway just went 10 feet from the curb into the garage that was sitting under the house or next to the house. 1 million cars on the street because there was never enough parking.

So we shoveled the snow into giant mountains wherever there was a free spot. City did the streets, but it was a law that you I had to do your sidewalks.

Playing in the snow was a given when we were kids. Now, I’m not even sure I like hearing about the snow…

We got slushy ice Saturday night and Sunday, but it was pretty much gone by Sunday night. Yesterday you wouldn’t have even known anything happened.

The cute little brunette lives about 35 miles north of me, and when I came up yesterday, some of the roads still had snowy ice on them, and in the shady places, there was still a lot of snow left on the ground. It’s kind of amazing considering it’s only 30 miles.

Still haven’t had enough to even think about putting the Missing Linc in four-wheel-drive mode in the four years I’ve had it. I love my toys, but in a way it wouldn’t break my heart if I never had that opportunity.
