Todays weather

No damage. We are one of the 1200 rural customers/with no power in addition to the town of 600 that is also dark.

Lots of damage around though. Greenfield is about an hour away and they really got clobbered.

Glad youresafe. That was huge.

Texas has been hit with tornados over the last couple of days. A tornado actually went through the neighborhood of my ex-girlfriend's brother in Temple and destroyed 500 buildings and injured over 30 people.

Tonight, there was a tornado that crossed IS35 north of Denton and did quite a bit of damage including turning over some trucks. I was actually going to go to Denton this evening and changed my mind which turned out to be a good thing because I would have had to deal with that mess.

Holy crap I'm glad I stayed home and didn't get stuck in that.

What I didn't know was that a tornado had formed south of me and was moving east. This is the tornado that crossed IS35 and resulted in that video above.

The only thing I miss about living in northeast Ohio is that tornados are very rare there.

The low this morning was 45°. It's currently 57° at 9:00 AM, and the forecast high is 85°.

I'm considering take a day-trip into the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada. The forecast high at 8000 ft is around 62°

This Tornado was insane. I'm looking at pics on Facebook of a destroyed travel center with debris everywhere, destroyed vehicles, and even dead livestock that must have been picked up by the tornado and dropped there. Death toll is now 7.

I realized that this actually destroyed 2 separate gas station / travel centers as well as an RV park.

Heat index is 104 here. I dont care much about what the thermometer says because the humidity is whats hot here. Only about 18mph wind too, so not much cooling going on from that

currently 70 with a mild thunderstorm, no big deal.

Mid 70's, partly cloudy with a little breeze, hopefully we'll get similar weather next weekend at Carlisle.

The humidity makes a world of difference. It makes hot, hotter and cold, colder.

Living on the edge.

So, I sat down on the sofa with a plate full of tacos and a large Margherita. A David Gilmore concert video playing on YouTube on the big TV. I look out the windows and see it raining. Next door neighbor is getting rained on. Neighbor across the street is getting rained on. Sun is out. The neighbors are wet. There are about 25 drops on my superduty. But everything else on my property is dry.

I am definitely living on the edge.

heat index was 117 day before yesterday. yesterday was 101 and today is supposed to be 101.

it sure feels nice and cool compared to 117

100ish with variable humidity coming from the thunderstorm downdrafts over the Sierra Nevada.

right now, the computer says its 82 degrees outside. it also says the humidity is 91% so i think its not going to feel like 82 degrees.

Georgia was hot and humid. It was in the low 90s just about every day but one where it got to at least 97. I definitely don't want to live there since it's only June. July and August must be real scorchers.

fort benning was always a bummer most of the year. i did airborne school there in april or may and then ended up getting a pcs to there after advanced training and came back in august for two and half more years.
