why not, u can get a beater and TAKE THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD, and then work on it while its sittin, ever consider that

I would love to do that, but where I live theres a limit and a hefty fine for having cars off the road on your property. And I'm already at the limit of one with my mothers Escort. Which we for storage. Also, I think the town is considering calling us out on the truck beds we have, along with the random pallets of stone on the property and the tow behind air compressor. If I get another vehicle, the ranger (sadly) is going to have to go.

if the vehicle is still registered, just not insured then they cant say shit about it, my township is the same way, u can only have 1 vehicle un registered on the property, and it has to be under a form fitting car cover, but that scrap pile of a yellow ranger when it got here had no tags on it, i tossed a texas tag up front in the windshield, and they cant say shit, they are not allowed to run tags on private property, and aslong as u dont leave the property with the truck then there fucked, and, aslong as the tow behind compressor has a tag on it aswell(cause u can register them) then they cant say shit about that, trust me man, i fight alot with the local township fools about stuff, and im just smarter then they are LOL

Get a topper for your Ranger, and drive the Escort.

I would have to slap some plates on it, and they would have to be valid.

Escorts trashed from a highspeed collision. Other guy ended up on his roof about 200 yards down the road.

If your getting a car, I wouldnt Think twice, I would deffinetly go with a civic, my mom has one and so does my buddy, hes got a 5spd 2door black sunroof, really nice car, moms is a 4door automatic granny wagon, but they both are great on gas

Jeff

So just out of curiosity. Why keep the Escort? I'm surprised your neighbors would bitch about some rocks and an air compressor instead of a wrecked car.

i dont think ur gettin my point, just remove the insurance from the truck, and leave it registered....simple as that

It's on the other side of some pine trees, barely visible from the road. My nearest neighbor doesn't care, because he has the same problem. Its not the people in Masonville that don't want the vehicles, it's the few rich bastards who are on the town counsel. Also as I said before, its good for storage. (wagon)

Okay then. But I still wouldn't have anywhere that I could put it.

anywhere on ur property i would imagine, if ur really dead set on gettin rid of the truck then do it, im simply suggesting the best way for u to keep the truck and get good gas mileage beater, but itll only work like that if u want it to work like that

I don't have a large property, and the property actually mine. It's my parents.

Bad idea...There is a hefty fine per day of no insurance in NY...and they wouldn't even let us cancel the insurance on the van unless we turned the plates in. Everything is done on the computer now... Insurance Co is notified when you turn in the plates. Now, if you surrender the plates to your local DMV office (for a fee), they will keep them for you, and you can take the insurance off, but that defeats the purpose.

Wow, you guys and your crazy laws

I'm still livin free out here with no inspections or anything. I love it.

So for those of you that have had a bunch of junk cars in your yard for years, do they get pissy about that? Or are you just kind of grandfathered in?

That is probably why they fussed to get such laws put in place, to get rid of that.

Yea, but its usually just tickets, that no one pays.
Sometimes they will enforce it though.
