I dont like the color of my ranger, its green and tan...not my favorite colors but i dont have the money to get a full paintjob. (could afford a 300 dollar maaco job but have heard bad things...)

so i want to do what i can, for as cheap as possible to make my ranger look a little nicer. i am not great at photoshop and this was a rush job but here is my question, which do you think would look better, the way it is now? or painted black?

I would paint your grill and chrome trim above it the same color as your truck.

Edit: Or color match those two to the color of your fender flares

I'd say if your going to paint the grille black, do the whole thing. Imo i think It should be a little more connected. Actually, in that photoshopped one looks a tad like my friend's taco(sorry if this offends you). But I think if It were my truck, I'd black out the flares, grille(including trim on top), and lower valence.

idk if i wanna mess around with color matching and all that, but if i could see what that would look like it might help persuade me. in the meantime, one more possibility....

I think it will look good as long as the grill, chrome trim, and flares match.

I say leave it.... Maybe try the flares a darker grey.

Is the pinstriping on these trucks paint or what? Any way to remove it?

use a hair dryer and a plastic butter knife to get it started and it should peal right off.. and i personally like the black flairs and grill.:icon_thumby:

What all have you heard about maaco? I figured I'll get mine painted there. I don't expect or even necessarily want a great paint job, it's gonna be taken offroad a hell of a lot here soon so I don't want a beauty queen. But, I do want it to be nice at least.

Maaco does a decent job (for the price) of spraying. I highly suggest that you do any body work yourself prior since they do a terrible job at bodywork. Also, take some time to wetsand your paint and buff it when you get it back to get rid of any orange peel.

do you think i should just get a maaco job? i want my truck all black but dont have alot of money to throw around...the presidential service is only 200 plus 100 since its a truck...atleast thats what is advertised i think...

Hell dude that's what I'm gonna do. Have any problems with the body?

some kinda deep scratches here and there. No dents afaik, except the driver door edge is a little flattened from I guess the owner before me door dinging someone. Easy to fix... Also maaco gave me an over the phone qoute of 350-400 for the "presidential" package. That's without them doin the door jams, I'll just hit them with a spray can afterwords if it looks bad. I'm thinking of getting it done but 400 is alot to lay out for cosmetic fixed right now. I have engine code p1443...

DO NOT LET MAACO PAINT YOUR TRUCK i have heard some horror stories esspecialy the cheap paint jobs.
