A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
For my F150.

Trying to decide, maybe im crazy, but i want something agressive and tough. Trying to decide between the BF Goodrich A/T (which i have now, awesome tire) or going with BF Goodrich Commercial T/A tires.

Id like to get goodyear workhorse A/T's like whats on my Dually, but they dont make them for a 15 in rim:(

Suggestions...im open to anything?

General tire (Known as Continental in EU) makes a tire very sililar to the BFG A/T, but for a lot less money. It's called the "Grabber".

The Toyo A/T's are also a good looking tire that's gotten good reviews.

I see lots or people running Pro-Comp XM/T's but haven't heard too much about them.

Personally I'd stay from the BFG A/T's as I think they're over-priced and over-rated.

I am also against the BFG ATs. They pack up with mud/soil with the smallest amount of moisture. They dont do any better in snow either, hard packed or loose. They wouldnt clean out completely until I hit atleast 25mph on the road. In short, it is a popular tire, but not a good tire if you do anything off the pavement.

Stay away from the General Grabbers. My Dad's brand new F150 had them, and they were shot within 20K miles.

I just picked up the Mountain cat E/T (DC's) form Les Schwab and I love them. The folks at Les Schwab said they wear great for how agressive they are and they are not as loud as the BFG's or the maxxis bighorns. They also have verry good looking side tread. Overall not bad for the price.

I love the ProComp AT's i've got on my explorer sport trac, great in the snow and are wearing awesome.

I like the General Grabber AT2's as well, very similar tire for less money than the BFG.

I had 33x12.5 Grabber MT's on my '90 Isuzu Trooper in high school, but I only had the truck for 2 years after that, so no idea on the wear factor. They got the job done for a decent price though. :dunno:

I bought General Grabber AT2's for my ranger In July, and drive them 70-75 MPH on the highway every day, and they STILL have the little rubber nipples on the treads. It's only been 6000 miles, but the fact that the little rubber nipples and flaps are still there says something.

I like my nitto terra grapplers. I been driving on the beach daily sometimes in 2wd there the best all terrain i've used. I also like the toyo open country a/t's there a good tire all around. im assuming you dont wana go to an M/T or other agressive type tire. procomp makes an inbetween xa/t and mickey makes the mtz and atz that are comparable

Ive been pretty impressed with the BFG All Terrians, just have a hard time swaolling the price of them.

I want something that looks aggresive but can back it up with decent treadwear.

I really liked my BFG Mudders i had on my 83, but they didnt last for shit.

later,
Dustin

I have no complaints. Grip very well. Cleans out good. Wearing pretty good.

One word Cooper (extra word and letters... Discoverer ST)....had them on my B2 daily driver for 2 years...B2 died a horrific death....sold them to a buddy with a Jeep(hate those things).... yet another daily driver .....he just got rid of the Jeep and I sold them to him 3 years ago....... 5 year old tires still looked brand new.

P.S. They were pretty good off-road too never get stuck.
