Im running 31x10.5 BFGoodrich A/T tires with stick rims, and they rub on the radius arms when im turning sharp in either direction. Now I dont mind changing the bumpstops and not turning as sharp, but I dont see how my lift kit would change any geometries in such a way to allow tire rubbage (they never used to rub).

I put on a tuff country lift kit which is standard drop brackets, coils and new shocks.

Thanks

Your new tires are wider than the stock ones so they will rub if you turn the wheel too far. It's not uncommon when adding wider off road tires. Mine do it too, they hit the radius arm and the swaybar.

but these are the same tires i've always been running

Did you do an alignment? If not the lift might have made your steering more extreme, resulting in the tires rubbing.

yeah they shouldnt be rubbing i have 31x10.5's on my 85 ranger an then dont rub period somthing go moved or somthin when the lift was put on ? im not sure what happened but they shouldnt be rubbing, how much lift did you do

If they didn't rub before, they shouldn't rub now...as stated have you had an alignment yet?

Did you put on a dropped pitman arm?
Most drop arms are also longer than the stock arm and could be why it's now rubbing (it turns the wheels sharper).

Yeah i had it aligned and thats all good and dandy (suprisingly) and yes I did put a droppep pitman arm with the 4" lift (good thing I did too cuz my tie rod angles are as perfect as they'll ever be for a inverted y-link setup).

I bet the dropped pitman arm is the problem.

So you say it allows for a sharper turning radius because its dropped?????

The arm is longer center-to-center. This swings the linkage (and the wheels) over farther when you turn (yes, you are turning sharper).

I wouldn't worry about it (you don't really have much in the way of options with the arm anyway). Tire rub on the radius arm is quite harmless (only if you had Boggers or something with huge tread lugs that can catch and "lock" onto the radius arm would it ever present a problem).

Well thats good to hear, thanks everyone.
