OKay guys I have a 2006 Ford Ranger sport 4x4 with a 3" body lift. Recently the inside of my tires have been wearing on the front. I took it to a place and they were able to only fix one tire and keep it from wearing, telling me that my I beam was bent and that was the problem. I recently discovered that they stopped putting the I beam on rangers past 97. Is this correct or does my truck have an I beam and it being bent the reason for my tires wearing. If this is correct what Is causing my tires to wear then?

They are idiots, you are correct. '98' on the 4x4's used the torson bar suspention, they must be confused a bit on which beam.

Not all 98+ have torsion bar setups. They are all IFS, but some have t-bars, some have coil springs.

Well he said 4x4 so that kind of limits which suspension he has

when ever you get an alignment ask for a printout of the specs both before and after then upload here -i have a lifetime alignment agreement-every oil change or if it pulls i get FREE alignment.if you wheel alot it is invaluable as tires and gas cost a bunch.i would like to see your specs on the most recent alignment

You've got me there. I missed the 4x4 part.

I'd say you need to find a better alignment shop. Some shops know what they are doing and some don't seem to have a clue.

And about that "lifetime" alignment... I bought one of those packages for my Ranger back when. Every time I took it back for an alignment, they told me that they couldn't align it because _________ is loose/broke. The one time they told me that it needed balljoints when they had just been replaced. When I pointed out that fact, the counter guy said that maybe he made a mistake and would ask the tech that worked on the truck - only to come back and tell me that he mis-heard the tech and it was my tie rods that were bad..... (they were not either). A genuine waste of time and money....

Yep, no twin I-beam or twin traction beam suspension past 1997 for the Ford Ranger. And with your being the 4x4 model, it will be a IFS with torision bars. Has for the tire wearing like it is, sounds like your camber is off. Which also indicates that you cranked the t-bars, didn't you?
