tire size help

ok guys i just got my 96 ranger the other day and i have a few questions.

1. the tires already on there are 31x10 and the treads are rather worn out. if i were to put some new rims and tires, though the same size, would it affect anything? for rims ant tires i was thinking alcoa rims with bfg all-terrains.

also, this is probably the wrong sectioon for this but my ranger sits kinda low in the front and i was wondering if i were to install larger coils, not to equalize it but to make it pre-runner, what else would i have to replace?

yeah the 31's should just fit right under there with no rubbing issues. But the alcoas are gonna be expensive as F**K! I think i can get them my price at the shop i work at for like 350 a piece.

why not just get some mickey thompson classic IIs or similar for 125 a piece alcoas really cant be that much better

I'm no prerunning expert, but I'm sure someone else will chime in here who knows a bit more than me. All I will say is, just because you lift a 2wd truck, does not make it a prerunner. It makes it a 2wd truck that happens to be lifted. If you are looking to build a prerunner, there is a PreRunner forum that you may want to peek around in.
