I'm getting ready to get all 4 tires replaced on my 99 Ranger XLT 4x4. Going on 190,000 miles. I've got Goodyear Fortera's on there now. Those were great all weather tires. I do a lot of hunting and fishing so I spend some time off road. No crazy mud bogging or anything but I'm wanting to get a good set of all-terrains for the times when I really need some extra bite. I still drive on the road 99% of the time so I don't want anything too aggressive (or noisy). I thinking about getting a used set but the odds of getting a matching set of 4 used tires that are still in decent shape is slim. I don't plan on having the truck more than another 2 or 3 years so I don't want to put big money rubber on there either.

Any recommendations? I'm looking at the under $150 a tire range. Thanks.

Treadwrights fit everything but the noise part.

Wintermark tires are my favorite virgin tire to buy. However I'm not sure it is under the Wintermark name anymore but if you can find a set they are amazing. When our local tire shop closed my brother bought every set close to his truck size and put them in storage.

Come to think of it. Those tires will do everything you said and meet each criteria.

Treadwrights are retreads, right? If so, I haven't ever dealth with retreads. Are they safe?

Treadwrights tires are top notch. I am running a set, my mom is on her 2004 E350, my brother ran a set along with two of his friends. None us have/had any problems with them :thumbup:

Sent from, wait how did this get here?

I have treadwrights 10 ply guard dogs with kedge grip on my Z71. Been running for 18k still look new 285/75/16

My brother has TWs and a friend has TWs my mom is getting a set for her z.

I've ran them to great success. My brother also has a studded set.

i bought a set of 30x9.50x15 “puma’s” basically BF All terrains, for my ranger back when it was bone stock. i drove literally from WA to AZ to IA back to AZ and back up to WA in a year so i got all sorts of weather and hot/cold.
they did amazing! i loved them i powered through snow no problem deeper mud was an issue but i mean they are all terrains not mudd terrains.

i loved them i got 20k out of them and they were easily 75-80% tread. and they cost me $450-$475ish shipped to my door.

Bfg's 100%. Their AT tire does amazing in all sorts of terrain and wears really well on these lighter trucks.

A second choice would be hankook dynapro ATM.

Sent from my iPhone.

I ran cooper tires on mine. I ran atr, a set of at3's for awhile and finally there stt's . I loved all of them
The atrs where good for the road,snow but lacked off road with a lot of mud
The at3's where good all the way around
And did a lot better in mud
And finally the stt's will rattle your truck apart for the first 1000 miles but they where amazing. A TON of traction in the mud. I never got stuck with them and there wore extremely well for a mud tire

I would recommend them all so some one under these conditions
Atr= more road then off road
At3 = light off road
Stt= weekend warrior

There is my 2¢
