Has anyone found a swing out tire rack for a step side Ranger that would be similar in function to the BIIs?

Only one you can buy is the tailgate tire rack thing. That replaces the tailgate.

My recommendation(search and you'll find several threads probably) is to build a bumper that holds a bearing setup with a tire swing away carrier. Just google swing away tire carrier and you'll see what I'm talking about. You really don't want the weight on the sheet metal unless you reinforce it good.

Look up the Mazda build of kroussinoffroad. He had a cool tire mount on his pickup.

I love what he did to/with that truck. One of the problems I have is that it's a Splash which means it has a stepside bed. They are fiberglass with steel insides, so mounting to the bedsides like done on that one is out of the question. The narrow bumpers aren't too handy for fabricating either. Maybe I could get one of the wider bumpers and reinforce it to take the torque of having a tire mounted to it... IDK
I'll look up the swing-away like you mentioned.. maybe there's something that would work in my receiver hitch...
