ok 1993 ranger 4.0 (fed) Ie non egr [bad motor] , engine to be installed 1997 explorer 4.0 (cal) w/egr, what timing set should I use, 95 to 01 or 90 to 94. I am just using the electrical that is in the 93 truck.

swap the header and intake over from the old engine and bolt it up. if its different timing, obviously the 93 timing. but bolt it up and try it.

BTW, IIRC, the 97 is a SOHC. you have a OHV in the 93. so the motor you have wont work without some extensive mods.

both are ohv engines. I'll just get the 90 to 94 timing set then. Thanks bro
