I did a tranny swap from auto to manual on my 90 4.0 2wd. Do I have to change the timing or the computer?

No, you should be fine

Make sure you can go above 3k rpms though. I read the newer (93+) will think you're in park and will not allow you to go above 3k. But yours is older so idk try it out. The engine will run the same, the only sensor that goes to the tranny is the reverse lights (and speed sensors?). But it's a manual, doesn't need a computer to tell it how to run, just a good driver.
