hey guys got a question for you i just found that my timing cover is leaking bad i just want to replace the gasket but do i really need to remove the oil pan i was just wondering if anyone did it without taking the pan off and had a good seal with just droping the front of the pan and resealing it i just dont want to pull the motor out for that any insight would be appt thanks

I replaced mine not too long ago. Just take off the alternator, power steering pump, and A/C if equipped. Then remove your crankshaft pulley and take off the water pump. Then the timing cover is right there. I didn't have to take out my radiator, but I did anyway, and the extra room is much appreciated. I didn't take my oil pan off, but I recommend changing your oil after you get done to get out the trash that dropped in. I recommend using Loctite Hi-Tack gasket sealant and while you're at it, replace your thermostat. It's a $7 part that can be the difference between blowing your engine or not. Plus my gasket was leaking on that too, so I needed to replace it at least.
