I'm getting an excessive amount of water vapor in my crankcase that would indicate a faulty head gasket issue. The (new) heads and gaskets were just installed with new bolts by a reputable mechanic. I have noticed some coolant seeping from behind the timing cover and assume this could be where the coolant is getting into the block. I'm actually watching water droplets being drawn into the throttle body through the vacuum tube going to the drivers side valve cover!
Anyone dealt with this issue before? If coolant and oil are mixing here, could you also lose compression through the timing cover? #1 cylinder is lower than the rest but I never find oily (or any liquid) on any of the spark plugs. Could the lower intake manifold cause similar symptoms? Long cranks during a warm start are another symptom. My gut feeling is to pull the heads and replace the gaskets using copper gasket spray but that would be a waste if the leak could be intake or timing cover. Any advice is appreciated!
