well its official the 06 is gonna have her heart ripped out for a rebuild thanks to a bad timing tensioner. so im trying to gather all the parts before and just use her for short trips if needed thank god i bought my f150 as a back up. so far im looking at the timing chain set, high volume oil pump and full gasket set(since she will be easier to do out of the engine bay.

Any suggestions on additional parts i should look at replacing while i have it out? not sure when i will have the funds for the parts just trying to get a bit of a start. I will be borrowing the specialty tool set from a relative to ensure my timing stays set!

got a 98 OHC 4.0 to rebuild for my brother first which will be so much easier lol.

I personally would do a complete rebuild....If u are going through the hassle to pull motor, u may as well do a complete disassembly and go thru the whole thing.......I see no point in a half assed job....just my opinion! :icon_surprised::popcorn: Or u could find a good used motor from a salvaged trk? Which I’m sure will be cheaper than a complete rebuild......:icon_idea:
