Ok I ordered the outer tie rod end for my truck (Mazda B2500 1998). Moog part number ES3461 and I think it looks wrong. I was expecting for the end of the tie rod to be more like the one here. Where something threads into the end but I have a tie rod that has threads like it threads into something else. Did I go wrong on the part I ordered? or did I get the wrong part? Part number is right on the box. I also noticed the picture of the part on rockauto has an extra bolt that I assume is used to hold the outer tie rod on after you screw it into the inner tie rod.:icon_confused:

Part I got

It should thread onto the inner tie rod that is attached to the rack. I'd say you got the wrong part there.

Big time wrong part. The one sent uses an adjuster sleeve and does not thread into the inner tie rod unit.

Ok that is kind of what I was thinking... glad to have some one to agree with me.

No is the part number right and it was miss boxed or is it the wrong part number?

Could be either.

Suggest taking the old part to a local parts house and spending a few extra bucks. If they have it on hand? Compare the two first. If ordered in? The parts house can return it normally at no cost to you.
