special bulbs? no.. you can get them at walmart or any parts store.

That may have come across as a stupid question but ever since i've owned a ford special tools and items are the norm

the blinker bulbs are those special by any means? my left blinker bulb went out ive got a lot of automotive bulbs but dont wanna tear apart the dash just to find its a special bulb, thanks.

Standard 194 bulb. So are the plate lights, and the bulbs that backlight the cluster.

Is it really worth it to make one i mean I figured if I did it would be a while before I had to replace it.

The only one who could determine if it was worth it is you. It's been done, there's lots of threads and pics in here somewhere of ones the guys have done.
I guess one has to weigh what they are doing with the truck, and the cost of putting in aftermarket above the time to do it.

If your gas guage isn't working it isn't the guage in the cluster

It's ALWAYS the in-tank unit

I replaced that not to long ago. So I thought it might be it. It's like it has a flat spot around 1/2 to 1/4 tank.

The way I look at it is this, it's not going to be stock. It's gettin a 4.0 or 5.0 here soon. It's gonna need the wiring harness. To me it's like I'm starting from scratch. And I kind of like the custom one off look they give you when installed.
