Recently did valve cover gaskets, rockers, push rods, egr, cleaned iacv, cleaned maf, changed pcv, three stage oil flush.

Ran great for about a thousand miles then last week out of the blue I began to hear a ticking under load and around 2300rpm it loses power and feels like I'm suddenly towing a car, and I swear I can hear a whistling when I give it more throttle. Still gets around and runs fine at rpms below that just wondering what's going on.

Lifters don't like the new push rods and are hanging up not allowing full valve operation maybe?

Why did you change push rods?

I've heard they are notorious for wear on high mileage 4.0ohv so when I did the gaskets, I inspected and found wear then replaced as a precautionary. They had been functioning properly before hand

Was getting starting to pull top end apart and found part.other rubber collar that connects the air intake give to throttle body had deteriorated and got sucked into throttle body. Runs fine now, still has occasional tick but oh well
