Can a water pump or clutch fan can make a rattle noise at certain speeds? I've been told its my throw-out bearing going bad but I have no problems shifting gears.....
1995 Ford Ranger 6 clyinder 3.0 motor, 2WD Manual transmission
.
My truck only does it once it get hot, the temp hand jumps up, but as soon as I press in the clutch, the sound stops and the temp hand drops back down once the sound stops and I lower my speed back down.
.
I don't have any problems shifting gears up or down. Also, I can coast while holding the clutch in or take it out of gear and coast without any noise.
.
As I said, the rattle noise, like hitting a rumble strip, only starts once the motor gets hot and I try to get over 40 mph. Now as long as I maintain speed and not give it gas to increase the speed, the noise and vibration doesn't start.
.
If I stay at 35 mph I have no problem Any suggestions? It is NOT the wheel bearings, brakes or rotors. Already had them checked
.
I just hate the idea of paying high garage bills to keep changing parts after parts.....sigh
