I need pics of anyone's heater hose connections and brake booster vacuum lines in the EFI models.

I just need to see where the heater hoses run to the heater core and back again in your 302's, the water pump lines, and where the brake booster lines are all running at.

Please don't try to explain it, pictures are worth 1672.62 words

I need reference points so that I can label as needed and get started.

im just startin to do a 5.0l conversion anything i can help with

Some pics on this page might help

Thats kinda what I need, but I would like some close up shots of the engine bay and such so that I can get some reference points.

Also, someting mustang-ish would be helpful. I have the Edelbrock 2 EFI intake and I need to see where everything goes to what.

well im just startin so the motor aint in the truck yet have it all just not in ill get pics asap

Well, does this help?

Appropriately Titled: My Heater Hose Pics

I need pics of anyone's heater hose connections and brake booster vacuum lines in the EFI models.

I took pics, then came in to upload, and had a hard time relocating the thread. I forgot the "bone-throwing" title. I know - I've used some silly titles before, too. I just learned the benefit of an appropriate title.

I didn't take a pic of the brake booster vacuum line. It simply goes from the main vacuum tree to the booster check valve. Route it however suits you.

Presently, the only thing about my hoses that I'm not satisfied with is - no shut-off. Coolant always flowing thru the heater core. Have to work on that - sooner, or later. Not a priority right now.

this was EXACTLY what I was looking for, thanks guys!!! If you want to post more, by all means, do it.

Soooooo... What are you learning? What are you trying to work out?

Soooooo... What are you learning? What are you trying to work out?

Long story short..... Motor and guts are from an 89' F-150, but the only conversion parts available are for mustangs.

Everything seems to be pretty close to each other, I tossed the truck EFI intake for a lower profile mustang intake, but that means that I have to try to establish where all the ports and plug-ins go.

The heater hose connections and vacuum lines are the only ones that I am stumped on, but just for the brake booster, all the other smog ports will have resistors on them.

I needed reference from your guy's rigs to see how close I am.:icon_thumby:

Well, on page 7 of my photobucket I have some pics of the top of the engine (page 7 for now, when I add more pics it will be page ??) Go and have a look there and tell me what more you need.

OR, better yet, take pics of the stuff that you are confused on and I will take a pic of it in postion, hooked up.

Good luck

Those pics fill a few more ?'s, but
as I dig into this more, I keep on coming up with different ?'s

For one, in you photos, I can clearly see where the main coolant lines are going, but in one of them, there is a " T " and I don't know where the 2nd line is going.
This is from the "old" version of my motor, upper left corner.View attachment 983

And, as I asked in another thread, how and where does the coolant line going into the throttle body come into play?

I am inclined, but I have never gotten this "involved" in a vehicle before, so any help would be nice

Regarding the "T" in my heater hose line. I am running a completely stock motor. I left the EGR system intact and working, it ONLY become active when cruising mid-throttle, at idle and WOT it does not do anything. There is an EGR valve right behind your throttle body. There is two tiny coolant lines running to this EGR valve to COOL the HOT exhaust gases before they enter the engine. There is a small hose running from the lower intake manifold up to the EGR valve, the coolant does its thing, then it leaves via another small hose into a heater hose. My engine came with a rigid heater hose that ran along the passenger side of the lower intake manifold, the small hose entered into it. I did not choose to use this rigid heater hose, thus I have a T joint on my soft heater hose.

Manymany guys choose to dis-include the EGR system, I dont know if it does any harm, and I also dont know if it does anygood. Whateve'. The EGR valve is acuated my engine vacume, and the engine vacume is controlled by a signal from the computer, kindof like a relay. This 'electric controling vacum' relay is on the front of that funny black piece of tin that is fastened under the cool 5.0L EFI decal that goes ontop of the Upper intake.

OK, what sensor would this be,
That is the Engine coolant temp sensor, he reports back to the computer and lets the comp know how hot you are running.

and is the smaller tube on the coolant tree not needed anymore? As you can see by the pics, no smog pump.

"Coolant tree" ? That black vertical pipe thing beside the temp sender? I would certainly guess that it went to a EGR valve, looks the right size. If that is the case then you dont have to use it, assuming you disconnect the EGR actuator. I guess I lied, I am running a stock engine, minus the smog pump, I got rid of it.
