Hello,
I have just purchased a 95 B3000, V6, 5spd, 2wd. When I let off the gas to shift gears, the rpm's do not drop when the clutch is in. If I leave the clutch in for a few seconds, they will eventually drop down to idle. Anyone know why?
Thank you,
Jeremy

yeah mine does the same thing and i would also like to know why, im thinking it has something to do with the trans. like the pressure plate or something?? or maybe the clutch??

yeah i kinda doubt that. i think its a sensor or something like that. lots of people looking but nobody answering

Thanks for your reply! I will research it tomorrow and see what I come up with

I don't know if the b3000 and b2300 use the same emission part, but on my b2300 the previous owner replaced the purge valve ass'y prior to selling the truck because the check eng. light was on. He said the only thing he noticed after replacing this part was now the eng. waits a couple of seconds before returning to idle when shifting where it immediately returned to idle before, so I guesstimate it's strictly for emissions. I have noticed a hesitation when I let off the throttle slowing down before the throttle closes to the idle position (isn't EPA and OBD II great?)
