throttle body spacer for 01 b3000 DS

I was looking a throttle body spacers for my truck and I found one for the Ford 3.0 but when I inquired whether or not it would fit my truck they said no, I was wondering if any one on here has tried the spacer for the ford ranger 3.0 on the mazda 3.0, I was under the impression that the motors were the same for the two and that all or atleast most of the parts made for one would work on the other... am I wrong?

a throttle body spacer is nothing more than a paper weight on our fuel injected trucks. now if your running a 460 big block with a 750 double pumper on it. It would benefit you to have a spacer. this topic has been beaten to death already on this forum.

Well, they were at least more truthful with you than with the guys running the Fords.

It won't work. Not because it won't fit, but because as Grey said, they are worthless on FI engines.

ok thanks for the input, any ideas on inexpensive to get more power for towing. as it stands it does ok with my boat but I think it could do better. I am planning on a cold air intake and changing the Diff gears to a 3.90:1 but would like to hear any other thoughts on it. Im thinking that the gearing would also help with fuel mileage, I am not so concerned with that, but if it improves I would not be unhappy about it.

You already have one from the factory. Unless you change the exhaust and engine tune to match you actually lose power from the aftermarket setup.

Aside from the fact that 3.90 gears are not available for any Ranger rear end, that is not nearly far enough. 4.10 is the highest you should go if you really want more available low end power. But gears don't exactly fit your criterion of inexpensive.

actually they do fit what I would consider inexpensive since the other option is to trade it and get a full size f-150 so yes a gear swap would be cheaper.
