My granny threw away parts to my tranny. Does anyone know what size and grade bolts I need for converter housing to engine bolts for a A4LD to a 4.0L?

Adsm where are you!? :confused::(

Why are you leaving parts where granny is gonna throw them out? Sounds pretty irresponsible to me.

Gota Agree with ADSM... should have been bagged (sandwich bags work well) AND, marked.

Granny would have NEVER thrown out food....:icon_surprised:

All that may be true IF granny wasnt suffering from dementia and lives in a home now. She threw out all my boxes with my labeled and bagged parts only thing I had left was my torque converter. She also threw out my grandfathers antique flash photography equipment from the early 1900's. But I appreciate all the help. If you'd like to come to Tallula Il. sometime I'll offer you some help of my own.

I have a 2.9 and an Auto sitting outside, IF they are the same I got the bolts in a bag, if you want I can go look.

The 4.0 SOHC used different threads than the 2.9. I think the 2.9 and OHV 4.0 were the same, but I can't remember for sure. I also can't remember the threading, which is why I didn't post a size.

Search, I know the answer is here because I remember AllanD answered the question in another thread in the Urgent Help section.

Yes, he did, I remember that thread. They are M10 x 1.5. I dont know the length. That wasnt need because the OP was just looking to put it on an engine stand.

adsm... The SOHC and OHV use the same bolts.

I'm gonna be 100% honest dude, I have taken trannies off of 2.9s and SOHC 4.0s many times. I have never taken so much as a bell bolt off an OHV 4.0.

Got it! Went to hillbilly cousins junkyard and stripped bolts from an xploder. Thanks for the help. Even got new rims and tires. Still had to take day off to do it though.
