This is new news to me. Before, it was puncturing the gas tank for the fuel. Hacking off cat. converters. And stealing spare tire for the alloy wheel. At least I have a video camera watching my Ranger for me.

I once bought a pickup with no tailgate...always wondered how tailgates disappear, now I know.

Hmmm, I remember a couple years back some superduty tailgates came up missing form a local dearship here. never thought they could possibly be used for scrap. New to me.
