nice truck man. what you gonna do about the hood pop tho? someone could just open it a trash the motor or take whatever they want. im not trying to be an ass. im just saying what if. ya no?

It amazes me. They are a cool idea but, why do Ranger guys spend so much time trying to make their trucks into Jeep Wranglers? I have seen half doors, tube doors, solid axle swaps, and tail bobbing. All that does is make it closer to a Jeep Wrangler. I would just buy a Wrangler. Then you can have the factory half doors, solid axles if you buy one a few years old, possibly factory selectable lockers (with good axles), and a real rear seat.

in my eyes, if it comes stock its not that cool, solid axle on a jeep whats cool about that its stock.... but on a ranger its awsome because it took time and fab work. anything made by the owner is cooler to me than any pricey thing you can buy

i might consider a jeep if you can find me one with a full frame and a truck bed for around 1500 what i bought my ranger for

All wranglers and CJ's have full frames and 60-70's Jeeps are all over for less than 1500.

EDIT: mised the truck bed part, but to my knowledge Jeep Camanchees (based one either the Wagoneer I think), have full frames.

And Jason, All wranglers, and if I'm not mistaken, Cherokee's (not Grand Cherokee) have always come with solid axles front and rear. They are one of the last 2 or maybe 3 vehicles that you can stil get with a solid axle in the front.

Although Wranglers do have some wanted attributes... Half doors, solid axles, removeable tops etc., No matter you do it will always be a Chrysler product, and so in other words, a POS.

:D

And cool doors by the way man!

I'm looking to make some of my own here this summer.

Newer ones were supposed to be independent front. The plan got scrapped for now as I now see.

Wasn't Chrysler until the late 80's. I challenge you to find me a more durable driveline than the 258 I-6 with a 4 speed.

Comanches have 50/50. Only the bed is removeable. The cab is unibody with the rear frame rails coming off the cab. It's a wierd setup.
