This fell out when my Auto 4x4 hub was removed doing tire change..

When I had my tires changed yesterday, this unknown piece came out when the auto hub was removed. Any idea what it is and can you tell me the part name or send link. It looks like a gasket or seal..

Could it be the grease seal? It looks to big for a grease seal I think, if you look at the circumference.

I'm not 100% sure. I forgot to take it with me when I left. I think it was rubber. But it could of been metal.

Looks like it fits inside the outer part of the hub.

I'm not super familiar with auto locking hubs. But I believe that is an o ring that seals the hub and hub cover.

@Shran would likely know for sure...

It's the o-ring on the outside lip of the hub.

I don't know what it's called because in the shop manual it doesn't show it. It's a type of rubber 0-ring. I think it seals against water getting in there. You can see in this picture where it goes. You might be able to find an O-ring that fits from various suppliers of such, I think I've heard that mentioned. One of mine was missing or, maybe the shop that took off the one with the stuck key dropped it, anyway, I think you -do- want to replace it when you re-assemble. Unless you opt for manual hubs. They will also have it and in either case you want to make sure it's on there properly when you put it back together.

I'm telling you. That bag of O-rings was seriously cheap. And It's probably a few more than I'll ever use.
