This bed a goner?

if the floor, inner fender side, and rear sill are OK it shouldn't be too bad to fix.
the fender comes off after a bunch of spot welds are cut, then the rest of the parts are right there.
this is the same corner, it's up-side-down. I do things the hard way :icon_thumby:

Other than looking super cool and making it hard to find roll bars or camper shells, no advantage

I have some Dominican friends that would save that, but I wouldn’t

Actually I think they are heavier. So, if you need more weight over the rear wheels it might have an advantage. Personally I like the STX/Mazda bed better for looking cool.

The stepside is all fiberglass though. Just the box part is metal, the fenders are not. Do you think it makes that much more wieght?

I have no idea. I have not had the bed off on this like i dis on my 98 mazda, which was not heavy

Funnily enough, my dad said something to the same effect. Unfortunately I have not ever been able to find the roving bodyman that I guess use to be prevalent.
With all that being said I have priced out a new bed in my area to be about $300, so that is probably the option I am going to go with since that seems extremely well priced all things considered.

Yeah, if you can find one in the right color a replacement is easiest, not sure where you're at but if you're close I'd help get some of the dents out, I have some tricks and tools... I imagine you're around Portland, between the two big Pick A Part yards (off of Foster and the other in Sherwood) chances are decent in finding one... I've somehow found a door and the front end pieces as well as tailgate I've needed over the years conveniently when I needed them...
