im just THINKING about taking the overload leaf out. i dont need it, i dont haul heavy stuff and i dont tow. i think the truck would look and ride alot better. i know people that have done this and were happy.
what do you guys think? :icon_confused:

I don't see why you would make so much hassle for a tiny bit better ride quality. If you wanted ride quality buy a prius, otherwise leave it alone.

but, thats just my opinion.

I think your leafs will sag and you will constantly hit bump, don't do it

haha, my neighbor had a ranger that he did that too.. hes the onet suggested it to me. i just thought it would look a little better. but im also lazy so, idk

If you have a flat overload leaf I'd leave it in

If you have an arched leaf that follows the leaf pack I'd flip it over.

You want to retain some level of strength to keep the leafs from going too far over center under load or a hard bump/hit etc. They will also help keep the leafs from folding under load and to help them keep their shape over time.

Yeah, I was just thinking that mine was flat too, and was scratching my head as to how it would make a difference in ride quality.

I'd have to second this suggestion.

^^^what he said, Bro!!!! My truck rides really nice and I enjoy the lifted look and the 33's on it. Super smooth ride and when the wife likes it, then I know it is good or she would say so!!

I ran 950lb springs on a '90 supercab 4x4, worked pretty good to improve high-speed cornering on gravel, but it dropped right onto the bumpstops if I filled it with firewood. Good thing the truck was mostly for play!
