All I'm saying is without them he wouldn't have the truck, or a place to live. Even if hes making the payments it doesn't sound like hes paying the insurance. I'm not trying to be a d!ck or anything I've met Scott and hes a nice kid. In a year or two I'm sure things will change but at his age his parents are still in charge.

yea , when i was working , i was making the truck payment , half the insurance payment , payin for shit i broke , and paying for fuel , i never had any money to my name hahaha

i dont think you would get as much as you want for the truck. the way you talk about it, you sound like the world is over. Now you just have a project to work on. And let me know if you still want to sell it after you fix it. unless you have someone else fix it?

Hey, easy, easy! It's not about "I told you so's" and all that. Just leave the guy alone for a bit, it's his truck to do what he pleases. Go tell that to C-Note who SAS'd his 2002. That's a nice truck, too. Or Scotty J. who recently got a bent up front quarter panel on his oh-so-clean '02 4x4. Things happen, it's his truck to drive and make his mistakes in. If he keeps it, it's not going to be his last! Around here it's run what ya brung, and he brung an 05 2WD. Sorry, I'm not trying to offend you or anything, I'm just stating my opinion just as you did. Rant over.

And Scott, don't worry about it buddy. You've got to respect your parents wishes in this case. They are, after all, your parents and if you respect them they will in turn respect you. We've all been there with our trucks, man. Heck, my parents threatened to sell my Explorer out from under me when I was taking forever to do the 351 in it, and they got tired of it taking my mom's space in the garage. So I moved it outside... in the winter! :shok: But they appreciated it, and even helped fund the swap in the end. It's a give and take man, it happens. But don't go sell your truck... and if you do, well that's your choice. Although, the way I see it, you're just going to be using that money to pay off your truck anyway, and then only have a couple grand or so left to spend on a vehicle. Like I said, it's your choice. But I've told you my opinion... granted, I'm biased. I love Rangers! :yahoo:

Keep the truck. Those aren't scratches, THESE are scratches. Yes, this was done off road, if you're going to do it, you have to be prepared for the worst.

i have never seen them or know them or really care about them sorry. but as for scott i have seen him and was just wacthing out for him sorry for careing about some one

Scotty J that band aid is ****ing awesome! hahaha

id totally love to take a newer ranger...around 03-05 or something and make a kick ass pre runner with it! 2wd of course!...i love all offroading and if u can mix some speed in with it EVEN BETTER..

that being said i wheeled my brand new 08 ram...dented the shit out of it... then gave it back to chrysler LOL was paying to much and i took a pay cut...cant afford a $1500 truck when u only make $2000...

Sell the truck, get a 1st gen (or any gen you can afford with cash) 4x4 PAY CASH, never get a loan on a car again, and do whatever you like. If it's payed off, you pay for repairs, and you paid for all of it, chances are (ha) your parents won't care what you do with it.

I think I was still 17 when I ripped the hole in my bed and started my scratch collection... but I never took out a loan on my truck (traded my old impreza straight across which i paid cash for) so my 'rents never cared.

There are only a few things worth going into debt over, and a truck isn't one of them.

agreed ^ i dont like or will ever get a loan for a vehicle. for my wife yes, but not for me.
