Good find. For 500 the truck should turnout to be a good commuter truck. My 95 has the same radio problem, but it will go away when I finally get around to installing my new JVC head-unit. Are you going to replace the clutch yourself or at all? I wouldn't say that replacing the clutch is the easiest job in the world, but I have had by transmission out of my truck twice and it gets easier every time you do it. Read up on some of the posts here on TRS, grab a Chilton's repair manual, and you should be good to go. Also I recommend a Zoom MU clutch kit from summit racing because that is what I used on my Ranger and it works great and the price was pretty good too. Good luck.
I've been driving the Ranger now for a few days and have yet to have the clutch slip on me again - is there a clutch-adjustment that anyone knows about?
I just posted about some electrical issues over in the electrical threads - wipers coming on by themselves, and now a "dinging" is ringing in my ears without stopping. I can't figure that out yet.
When I am ready to change out the clutch I think I'm safer taking it to someone local and having them do it. I'd feel safer knowing someone who knew what they were doing swapped it out for me.
No adjustment on the clutch it's hydraulic. When you replace the clutch & pressure plate have them do the slave cylinder at the same time. Slave cylinder controls the clutch's movement and is inside the transmission's bellhousing like the clutch & pressure plate. That ringing in your ear is a common problem. I believe I read most people disconnect the ringing unit (there is a proper name for it) and it is located I also believe behind the radio. If you read through the posts you'll find a lot written about it. I have the same thing on mine but have been ignoring it for about a year. It will probably be another year before I pull the radio and silence that little devil. I have learned to tune the dinging out pretty good now. You might finad you can do the same.
nice... thats a steal... when i get a work car i fig it value at 100bucks a month so if it lasts 5 months ur even, then if u sell uve made a profit , i paid 700 for my 95 3yrs ago owes me nada so now ive decieded to mod it then start my value over again...congrats...
